Hand Stripping
$60 per hour (including complimentary bath if requested)
Hand Stripping is the removal of dead hair and is typically done on Terriers. Many terriers such as Schnauzers, Border Terriers, West Highland White Terriers vusually get shaved at dog groomers, which damages their coat and forces it to come in softer. Once these coats have been shaved, it's very hard (but not impossible) to get it to come back in how it should. These terriers are meant to have a harsh texture to help repel dirt and water.
It's very hard to find someone who still hand strips. I learned my skills from two Certified Master Groomers in Nova Scotia.
